How to Start an Asana Practice and Adjust Settings in the Ashtanga Yoga Home Mobile App?

Asana Practice Settings

Our mobile app allows practitioners to customize their practice according to their preferences. You can adjust the amount of guidance, duration of the practice, breathing pace, and background sounds. You can also influence the content within the framework of traditional Ashtanga asana series.

We regularly update the mobile app, and more difficulty levels, variations, and different practice series are coming soon.

With the mobile app, you can practice different-length series multiple times a week and build a solid foundation for your practice. By changing the breathing pace, you can get different experiences. Initially, it's best to choose a breathing pace that's not too fast or too slow for you (3.5-5 seconds). The breath should be steady, and you shouldn't have to hold your breath. Once your breathing pace is relatively stable for almost the entire practice, you can challenge yourself with a longer practice if you wish. Gradually, the asana practice will bring you endurance, strength, and your whole being will have time to Integrate the practice without becoming too exhausted.

The asana practice is suitable for those who ALREADY practice Ashtanga. An introductory Ashtanga course for beginners will be available in the app in 2025. In addition to the mobile app, it is recommended to participate in live classes through the app and/or, if possible, attend the classes/courses of an authorized Ashtanga yoga teacher from time to time.
